FJMU VC launches spring plantation campaign

Lahore Fatima Jinnah Medical University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Khalid Masood Gondal has inaugurated the spring plantation drive.
A press release said that per the Punjab government's instructions, the FJMU VC commenced the campaign by planting saplings on the front lawn of Fatima Jinnah Medical University and College of Nursing, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Lahore.
Special prayers for national prosperity and progress were also offered. Dr Khalid Masood Gondal highlighted the importance of such campaigns to combat climate change.
He said “Trees are of fundamental importance in human life. Without trees, it is impossible to imagine life. Trees are the source of life, and their protection sustains life.
“There is a need to plant more trees to reduce environmental pollution. Pakistan is facing the challenge of climate change. Everybody should participate in the tree plantation campaign so that environmental and pollution can be eliminated and Pakistan can be protected from climate change."
Principal Prof Noreen Akmal, Registrar Prof Muhammad Nadeem, Chairperson of Department of Medicine/Director Quality Assurance Cell/Dean Nursing Prof Bilquis Shabbir, Medical Superintendent of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital Prof Dr Hafiz Moinuddin, Prof Aisha Malik, Abdul Hameed, Prof Dr Naveed Akbar, Dr Faiza Abrar and faculty as well as students were present on the occasion.
