The VC had objected to this decision and wrote a letter to Prime Minister Imran Khan requesting him to intervene in the matter. The HEC objected to his endeavor to write a letter to the PM and asked him to provide an explanation within 10 days. The VC submitted his response along with his resignation letter. However, his resignation was not accepted by the governor. But a few days later, the governor had sent Dr Iftikhar on 90 days forced leave. Vice Chancellor Dr Iftikhar submitted a writ petition to the Peshawar high court challenging the governor’s order of his removal.
