Imran Khan shows up at Arshad Sharif’s funeral in absentia

Former prime minister Imran Khan attended senior journalist Arshad Sharif’s funeral in absentia in Lahore, 24NewsHD TV channel Thursday.
The killing of the senior journalist made headlines on Monday as his widow took to Twitter and confirm his killing in Kenya. His funeral was held at Faisal Mosque and he was laid to rest at the H-11 graveyard in Islamabad.
Reportedly, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman was under pressure from within the party to participate in the funeral of Arshad Sharif. The report cited sources as saying the prime minister was advised by someone not to abstain from showing up at a funder and nearing a dead body. The insiders added that the PTI chief could arrange the funeral in absentia.

Imran Khan was not seen at the funeral of his long-term partner Naeem-ul-Haq and nuclear scientist Dr Abdul Qadir Khan. Arshad Sharif played important in the promotion and propagation of Imran Khan’s ideology.
Imran Khan visited the residence of Arshad Sharif to share the grief of the bereaved family after the sad story came into the spotlight. Imran Khan and other party leaders including Asad Umar, Shahbaz Gill and Farrukh Habib attended the funeral in absentia at the Chief Minister House in Lahore.
