The Border Health Services has made it mandatory for international flights to have disinfection certificates, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
The decision was taken at the emergency meeting of the organisation’s high-ups with the administrative heads of the country’s airports.
According to the new directive, the certificate will bear the signatures of the flight’s pilot as well as of the concerned official.
The pilot will have to show the certificate to the health department prior to flight’s departure.
Similarly, in case a passenger is sick, he or she will have to submit personal health declaration form.
Likewise, the Border Health Services has directed that the data of passengers who are made to disembark from the plane due to sickness be shared.
It has also been directed that in the light of the standard operating procedures (SOPs), the flight’s waste be disposed of in a proper manner.
Under the new rules and regulations, airport’s health officer and assistant airport health officer will inspect the hygienic and sanitary conditions inside planes.
Similarly, all airlines have been ordered to share Aircraft Health Policy in order to disseminate information about salient features of the policy.
All airlines have been directed to ensure compliance with these rules within 15 days.
