Three robbers were shot dead in an encounter with police in Thikriwala, Faisalabad, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
According to police, five armed men were robbing citizens of valuables in the Siddhar area of Thikriwala.
On information, Thikriwala police reached the spot, but the dacoits opened fire on them.
The police fired back in retaliation, and three robbers were killed in the exchange of fire.
However, two robbers managed to escape. The identity of the deceased could not be ascertained while the search for their accomplices who escaped was launched.
“The deceased robbers also looted a shop in Thikriwala an hour before the encounter,” police said.
Five-member dacoit gang busted in Lahore
Lahore Saddr police busted a five-member dacoit gang.
“The accused were involved in looting people at gunpoint in different areas of Lahore,” police said.
“They also used to shoot at and injure people during robberies,” they added.
“Millions of rupees in cash, cell phones and illegal weapons were recovered from the accused,” they stated.
