Sindh govt inquiry reveals police killed Dr Shah Nawaz in fake encounter in Umer Kot

Interior Minister Sindh Zia Langar has said that inquiry report of Umer Kot incident has been presented to Sindh government and it has been revealed that police killed blasphemy accused Dr Shah Nawaz in a fake encounter in Umer Kot district and Sindh government has urged the victim family to register FIR against involved police officers if the victim family fails to do so otherwise Sindh government will get it registered against police officials, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Addressing a news conference in Karachi Sindh Home Minister said that inquiry report comprised 31 pages which review the incidents with all aspects. During the investigations, committee reviewed CCTV footages, trackers of vehicles, CDRs and statement of police officials and others.
On the basis of inquiry report, SSP Mirpur Khas has already been suspended and the government was requesting family to register an FIR against police and other accused.
Sindh Minister also made it clear that said that the mobile phone of the accused Dr Shah Nawaz has been sent to Lahore for forensic audit and all details of the forensic will be made public after the report. After the forensic audit, it will be made public whether he committed blasphemy or not. Sindh government said that it will not compromise on rule of law. Langar said the Sindh government want to improve the morale of the police.
