Qatar Airways special flights to repatriate British nationals stuck in Pakistan

The Civil Aviation Authority on Monday allowed landing of five UK charter planes in Pakistan to bring back stranded British nationals and diplomats.

CAA Air Transport Director Air Commodore Irfan Sabir issued a notification in this regard. The permission was granted on the request of British High Commissioner office.

According to the notification, special flights of Qatar Airways would land in Pakistan from April 30 to May 5, 2020 to bring back stranded British nationals and diplomats.

The first flight of Qatar Airways will land in Karachi on April 30 and will leave for London carrying 300 British nationals and diplomats. The second flight will reach Lahore on May 1 and will leave for London carrying 200 British nationals. The third flight of Qatar Airways will land in Lahore on May 2 and will leave for Manchester. The fourth flight of Qatar Airways will land in Islamabad on May 4 and will leave for London carrying 300 Brits. The fifth flight will land in Islamabad on May 5 and will leave for Manchester.

However, plane crew would not be allowed to step outside the plane during their stay at the airport, CAA said.

The international flight operations have been suspended till May 15 however special flights in and outside the country are being allowed as per the approval of CAA to bring back stranded Pakistanis.
