Judge’s letter case: IHC chief justice sends recommendations to CJP

Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Aamer Farooq has sent its recommendations to the Supreme Court of Pakistan after holding its full court meeting of judges on the apex court’s advice in the wake of IHC 6 judge’s intervention complaints, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The IHC judges unanimously suggested that in case of any interference, all civil, session and High Court judges were bound to report to their concerned senior judges, adding that in case of a complaint, first of all, the internal procedure should be followed.

The recommendations further said that all judges are bound to report inference within seven days and in case a judge does not report it within a week, he should be found guilty of misconduct.

In case of interference, a civil judge will report to session judge while session judge will brief it to the High Court inspection judge.

The inspection judge will bring this to the notice of the Chief Justice of the High Court.

It is pertinent to mention that on March 25, six IHC judges made serious allegations against the country's premier spy agency. Subsequently, the apex court initiated suo motu proceedings based on the letter.

Later, Chief Justice Faez Isa sought advice from all judges of IHC regarding the letter issue of whether the full court should be constituted on this serious issue and on this Chief Justice Islamabad High Court Justice Aamer Farooq convened the meeting of all IHC judges and prepared a recommendation draft which has been sent to the CJP.
