Saudi royal court delegation calls on PM Shehbaz in Riyadh

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on late Saturday arrived in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to participate in a special meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) on ‘Global Collaboration, Growth, and Energy for Development’, being held during April 28-29, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Deputy Governor of the Riyadh region Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Bin Abdul Aziz, Pakistan’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia and embassy staff received the prime minister and his delegation at the Riyadh Royal airport.
Meanwhile, a Saudi delegation under the leadership of Mohammad Bin Maziyad Al-Tawijri, Advisor to the Royal Court and General Secretary of the Supreme Coordination Council of Saudi-Pakistan met with the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and held discussions on matters of mutual interest.
During the meeting, the two sides showed extraordinary warmth regarding the further boost in bilateral economic relations.
Mr Al Tajweeri and his delegation said that the Saudi government and companies were keen to investment in Pakistan, adding that after the Saudi Foreign Minister's visit to Pakistan, Saudi Arabia's investment in Pakistan has been started on a priority basis.
Mr Al Tawijri said Saudi investment in Pakistan has started on a war footing, including both public and private sector investment. Mr. Al Tawijri further said that a key delegation of Saudi business community and investors will visit Pakistan in a very short time.
Mr Al Tajwiri, who is also in charge of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, also briefed the Prime Minister about Vision 2030.
On the occasion, PM Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have a long-standing brotherly relations which were getting stronger with the passage of time.
The Prime Minister told the delegation that during the visit of the delegation led by the Saudi Foreign Minister to Pakistan, significant progress was made regarding Saudi Arabia's investment in Pakistan in various sectors. The progress made during the Saudi delegation's visit to Pakistan is moving forward at lightning speed, the Prime Minister added.
The PM said the people of Pakistan have immense respect for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques His Excellency Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. On the occasion, the Prime Minister thanked the Saudi Crown Prince and the Prime Minister for their warm welcome and excellent hospitality.
Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Muhammad Aurangzeb, Federal Minister for Petroleum Mussadik Malik, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Federal Minister for Power Owais Ahmed Khan Leghari, Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan, Deputy Chairman Planning Commission Jahanzeb were present in the meeting.
It is pertinent to mention that the prime minister was invited to attend the WEF meeting by Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and WEF Founder and Executive Chairman Professor Klaus Schwab.
The Prime Minister and the Ministers will participate in WEF discussions on issues related to trade and investment measures, new investment frameworks, restructuring of supply chains, sustainable growth, and the energy landscape, Foreign Office Spokesperson said in a press release.
