Attorney General Khalid Jawed Khan tests positive for coronavirus

Attorney General of Pakistan (AGP) Khalid Javed Khan has contracted coronavirus gone straight into self-quarantine, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
The Covid-19 test result of the AGP from a Karachi laboratory came back positive. Khalid Jawed Khan has put himself into quarantine.
A number of his well-wishers on Twitter extended their wishes for his early recovery.
It may be recalled that the Supreme Court of Pakistan will share its opinion on the presidential reference seeking the apex court's view on holding Senate elections through open ballot on Monday, according to a supplementary cause list issued on Saturday.
The attorney general represented the Federation in the reference seeking open ballot to stop the use of money in the upcoming Senate polls. Khalid Jawed Khan had on December 23, 2020 moved the 11-page reference under Article 186 of the Constitution relating to the advisory jurisdiction of the Supreme Court.
The hearing was overseen by a five-member larger bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Gulzar Ahmed and comprising Justice Mushir Alam, Justice Umar Ata Bandial, Justice Ijaz Ul Ahsan and Justice Yahya Afridi while the AGP submitted his arguments during the hearing of the reference.
