Frontier Constabulary Balochistan North region foiled Iranian diesel smuggling bid near Balochistan and Sindh border, reported 24NewsHD TV channels.
According to a report, smugglers were bringing 379,000 liters Iranian diesel in at least 9 trucks. FC Baloshitan took the in-time action and thwarted smugglers’ bid to shift the illegal diesel into Pakistan.
The confiscated oil has been handed over to the customs department after legal formalities.
Up to 35pc of diesel sold in Pakistan arrived illegally from Iran, the Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association (PPDA) said.
The association said that in the past, the smuggling of fuel was limited to Balochistan, but that it has now spread to the rest of the country.
