ECC sets up committee on cotton intervention price issue

The Economic Coordination Committee has set up a body on the issue of the intervention price of cotton. The committee also gave a 15-day extension to the subsidy provided to five items being sold at utility stores, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin chaired the ECC meeting held in Islamabad on Monday. The ECC established a committee that would monitor the issue of cotton intervention price. It also extended the subsidy given to five items at utility stores for 15 days.
The economic committee also gave approval for the payment of demurrages by Pakistan State Oil. It also okayed supplementary grants for different ministries and departments.
