The new attorney general, Mansoor Usman Awan took the charge of his office on Tuesday, a day after he was appointed to the post, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Mansoor Awan reached the Supreme Court on Tuesday to represent the state in PTI’s challenge to the ECP decision of delaying polls in Punjab.
“Yes, I will appear before the court today,” he said in response to a question put to him by a journalist about his appearance before the Supreme Court in the case of postponing the elections in Punjab.
“Will you raise any objection to the apex court bench?” another question was put to him.
“Let us appear in the court first,” he replied.
It is to be noted here that on the advice of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, President Arif Alvi had appointed senior advocate Mansoor Usman Awan as the Attorney General of Pakistan (AGP) on Monday last.
