Underage smokers to be fined as online registration of cigarette sellers starts in Islamabad

The government Friday started online registration of cigarette sellers in Islamabad, the Capital city of Pakistan, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.
According to reports, the process of online registration has been started by the Excise and Taxation Department from today.
The Excise and Taxation Director Bilal Azam told the media that there was a ban on selling the cigarettes in loose packing so the violators would be arrested and fined.
The Director said his department would fine a minor (less than 18 years of age) from Rs1,000 to Rs0.1 million for smoking within the limits of Islamabad city.
The Director further said that there would also be a complete ban on the sale of cigarettes near schools and colleges and the staffers of excise the department would strictly follow all rules.
