Special Assistant to Prime Minister Attaullah Tarar has said that the PML-N is making a strategy to use all available options to restore Hamza Shahbaz’s government in the Punjab province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Speaking jointly outside the party’s Model Town office, PML-N leaders Atta Tarar and Azma Bukhari said the PML-N Parliamentary Consultative Group has decided to go till the end to ensure that the public mandate will not be affected in any case.

They said that they have multiple options with them to regain Punjab’s government.

“We played our role for democracy and public mandate in a peaceful manner. A resolution was passed to complete the Punjab Assembly’s term,” Attaullah Tarar said.

He said the meeting consulted on file a no-confidence motion against the chief minister or instructing the governor to ask the provincial government to seek a vote of confidence. He said that Hamza Shehbaz will hold a meeting with a PPP delegation tomorrow and will discuss the no-confidence motion.

Tarar said political and legal options should be used and assemblies should not be dissolved. He said that imposing Governor’s rule was an option and consultations are being held.

Azma Bukhari said the Punjab Assembly is not the personal estate of Pervaiz Elahi and Imran Khan. She said the assembly was brought to a standstill as Imran has failed in his objectives. She said one party cannot decide public mandate and the PML-N also has 180 members in the assembly.

PML-N and PTI have equal number of members in Punjab Assembly, she said adding that they will not allow anyone to murder public mandate overnight.

She said the PTI is threatening to dissolve the assemblies and the court should look into the matter.

It is pertinent that PTI Chairman had announced to quit the provincial assemblies in a bid to force the government to hold early elections. Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has also expressed willingness to dissolve the assembly on Imran’s instructions.
