Inside Story of PTI Consultative meeting:
The inside story of the consultation meeting of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) revealed that Imran Khan has been advised not to tender resigns but to dissolve the provincial assemblies of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the meeting was held here at the residence of the party chairman Imran Khan on Monday in which legal experts and senior leaders participated.
Imran Khan presided over the meeting and considered different consequences related to dissolving both the legislative assemblies or tendering the resignations.
According to the sources, in the consultation meeting, Barrister Dr Babar Awan and Barrister Ali Zafar informed the party leaders about the constitutional and legal aspects in case of dissolution of the assemblies.
On this occasion, legal experts were of the opinion that if they will tender their resigns, the imported government will be imposed.
The legal experts further told the meeting members that if the assemblies are dissolved, the incumbent chief minister will remain till the caretaker setup and if there is no agreement between the government and the opposition on the caretaker government, the Election Commission will decide about it.
The legal experts added that the ruling alliance Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) will be benefited by getting the power of caretaker setup to the Election Commission.
On this occasion, some of the party leaders coined their views that with the dissolution of the assemblies, the imported government will have to hold general elections in any case while KP Chief Minister Mehmood Khan assured the meeting that he will obey the decision of Imran Khan to dissolve the assembly.
The sources said in the consultative meeting, the majority of the party proposed to dissolve the assemblies instead of resigning and gave the right to dissolve the assemblies or to resign to PTI Chairman Imran Khan.
The sources said the meeting has decided to make more consultation on the matter and take Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and his son Moonis Elahi into confidence in this regard.
PTI senior leader Fawad Chaudhry also held a news talk after the meeting and said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Punjab assemblies will be dissolved while their representatives in the Sindh and Balochistan assemblies will tender their resigns.
