Dacoits storm police post in Khairpur; cop martyred in ensuing fight

The lawlessness in district Khairpur is on the rise as dacoits storm a police post established in the limits of the economic zone police station and martyred one police official and injured two others, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
According to details, some armed dacoits attacked a police post. They opened fire at the post. As a result, a policeman, Khadim Jamro, was martyred while another police official and a passerby were injured by the intense firing.
The body of the slain cop and the injured were shifted to the Civil Hospital.
Heavy exchange of fire between the police and bandits was going on till the filing of this report.
Extra police force has been called from across the district.
During the previous month, there has been an increase in incidents of robbery and murder in the district.
Ten days ago, a police officer was also martyred in Kunbh by the firing of dacoits.
