Assad Majeed Khan to be new foreign secretary

The government has decided to appoint Assad Majeed Khan as the new foreign secretary, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday, quoting diplomatic sources.

Assad Majeed Khan will replace incumbent Suhail Mahmood.

Assad had also been worked as ambassador to the US and during his tenure the ‘American letter’ issue was surfaced, the diplomatic sources disclosed.

According to the sources, Assad Majeed Khan is a grade-22 officer in the Foreign Ministry and is currently deputed at Brussels.
