Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday said he has ordered an inquiry against the Pakistani ambassador in Saudi Arabia for not providing up-to-the-mark services to Pakistani expats and mistreatment meted out to the hard-working Pakistani labourers, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Imran Khan also warned the Pakistani embassies abroad that their most important duty is to serve the Pakistani labourers working in respective countries.

Addressing overseas Pakistanis in connection with Roshan Digital Account reaching a milestone of one billion dollars, the Prime Minister said, “I came to know that the Pakistan Embassy in Saudi Arabia did not provide the services they ought to provide and mistreated our labourers in Saudi Arabia. We have initiated an inquiry against the Pakistani ambassador in Saudi Arabia. We will make an example of this mistreatment.”
“Overseas Pakistanis are the country’s assets who support the Pakistani economy. Our embassies are not appreciating the hardworking class of overseas Pakistanis which are labourers. They work round the clock and send remittances,” the prime minister said.
Imran appreciated overseas Pakistanis efforts and directed the central bank of the country to tap more potential from nine million expatriate Pakistani nationals.

”We need to tap nine million Pakistanis abroad till our exports rise,” the premier said pointing out to the Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
He said when there is a current account deficit, the rupee depreciated followed by divestment and future growth rate.
In a series of tweets, PTI leader Faisal Javed said the Roshan Digital Account was launched just seven months ago, with the objective of connecting Non-Resident Pakistanis to the country's banking system.

Faisal Javed said that more than 12,000 accounts have so far been opened from 170 countries around the world and more than $1 billion have been received.
The State Minister for Information said investment in Naya Pakistan Certificates has crossed 646 million dollars. Investment in Stock Exchange through Roshan Digital Account has crossed 1.6 billion rupees.
The PTI leader said this milestone is a testament to the faith that the non-resident Pakistanis have in Pakistan and Prime Minister Imran Khan led government.

He said two new initiatives ‘Roshan Apni Car and Roshan Samaaji Khidmat' are being launched on Thursday for Roshan Digital Account holders.
Under Roshan Apni Car, the Roshan Digital Card Holders can avail financing at very attractive terms to purchase a car for their loved ones in Pakistan. Banks are offering both conventional and Islamic modes of financing at attractive mark-up rates starting from 7 percent with priority delivery.
Faisal Javed said under Roshan Samaaji Khidmat, the Roshan Digital Account holders can give donations and Zakat very conveniently. He said they will also be able to make donations directly to the government's landmark Ehsaas programme.
