31 naan, roti shop owners arrested for violating prices in Lahore

District administration Lahore has registered 42 cases and arrested 31 persons over violating and disobeying the government orders regarding prices of Naan and Roti, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.


According to report, during checking of as many as 1321 points in Lahore, 1217 shops were selling naan and roti according to the rates, fixed by the government while about 104 shopkeepers were over charging.


The price control magistrates imposed fines of Rs137000 to those who violate the prices of naan and roti.


Assistant Commissioner City Rai Babar imposed heavy fines for two violations and sealed the shops.


Assistant Commissioner Raiwind Zainab Tahir inspected several tandoor points in Johar Town area.


AC Raiwind Zainab Tahir directed the concerned price control magistrate to display the flexes prominently.


Assistant Commissioner Cantt Nabil Memon while checking shops at Faisal Ghaman Road and Nishtar Colony imposed a fine of Rs5000 on Tandoor Malik for violation.


Deputy Commissioner Lahore Rafia Haider said that the prices and weight of naan and roti are being checked on a daily basis and strict action is being taken against those who violate the prices.


She said that for the convenience of the citizens, flexes are also being installed at prominent places related to the prices of bread and bread.


DC Lahore Rafia Haider said that citizens should register on Chief Minister Punjab Helpline 080002345 to complain about the price of naan and roti.
