Influential’s thrashing leaves boy half-dead

A court of village elders ‘convicted’ a young boy of stealing just Rs100 and then he was beaten black and blue on Saturday.

The tragic incident took place in Uch Sharif in the vicinity of Nowshehra Jadeed police station where a village court comprising influential landowners and local people “convicted” the child of stealing Rs100.

The young boy was then beaten by the people whose indiscriminate use of sticks and fists rendered the child half-dead.

The relatives of the child appealed to the authorities for justice.
