Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said on Friday he was extremely happy on the wedding day of his younger sister Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari.
He took to Twitter to share his happiness and wrote, “Happiest moment in many years to see my sister @BakhtawarBZ getting married. Felt like our mother was watching over us in this moment of joy. Wishing them both all the best of for their new life together. Masha'Allah!”
Bakhtawar, daughter of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto and former president Asif Ali Zardari, on Wednesday shared a video of herself getting her hands decorated with henna. On Sunday last, a milad function was held at the Bilawal House in Karachi to mark the beginning of the series of events ahead of Bakhtawar's wedding which will continue into the weekend. The women-only gathering was attended by the aunts of Bakhtawar Bhutto, Faryal Talpur and Dr Azra Pechuho, and other PPP members.
The schedule of Bakhtawar's wedding with businessman Mahmood Chaudhry was released by the Bilawal House last week. Her nikkah was held on January 29 while Baraat is scheduled for January 30. Nearly 300 guests have been invited by the Bhutto family. The spokesman said that PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will be suspending his political activities for a week to participate in his sister’s wedding. Bakhtawar got engaged to Mahmood Choudhary on November 27, 2020, in an intimate ceremony held at the Bilawal House, Karachi.
