Corona PCR test fee reduced to Rs4,800 in Punjab

Punjab Healthcare Commission woke up finally after two years and issued a circular on Saturday limiting the maximum fee of the Covid-19 PCR test to Rs4,800 across the province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The PHC issued a circular that all public and private laboratories and collection centres will only charge up to Rs4,800 for a PCR test and not Rs6,500.
Pertinent to note that PCR means polymerase chain reaction, and a PCR test has been the gold standard test for diagnosing COVID-19 since authorized for use in February 2020.

Meanwhile, Punjab Auqaf Department Secretary Jawad Akram contracted COVID-19 Saturday and quarantined himself.
