Punjab police to target kite-flyers in night-time raids

Punjab Police have decided to launch a crackdown on kite-makers and aerial firing violators on weekends, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
Punjab IGP Rao Sardar Ali Khan has said that strict legal action should be taken against those who make and sell kites and metal strings.
He also requested mosques for special awareness announcements to be made about restraining from aerial firing.
The Punjab top cop also ordered to take action against online sellers of such material and ordered his officers to set up special raid teams at night also in Multan, Lahore, Gujranwala and Faisalabad.
The IGP urged citizens to shun and stop such activities for the sake of entertainment.
Rao Sardar urged parents to keep a close eye on their children and asked citizens to call 15 on immediate basis in case of any aerial firing.
