Chohan handed over to FIA on two-day remand; booked for another case

A magistrate court has awarded a two-day physical remand of PTI MPA Nazir Chohan while the member of provincial assembly has also been nominated in another FIR for creating an obstruction in the performance of official duties and hurling life threats at the police officials, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The Federal Investigation Agency on Thursday presented MPA Nazir Chohan before the magistrate of the Cantt court which awarded his two-day physical remand.
Mr Chohan was arrested on the complaint of Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Accountability and Interior Shahzad Akbar.
He will again be brought before the magistrate court on July 31.
The agonies of Mr Chohan have not been going away as another case has been registered against him for creating an obstruction in the performance of official duties and hurling threats at the police officials.
Reportedly, SHO Green Town police station Saghir Ahmad lodged a complaint against MPA Chohan, who is also a member of PTI estranged leader Jehangir Tareen’s group, accusing him of forcing his entry along with his coordinator and companions in a polling station on the eve of Azad Jammu and Kashmir election. When the police tried to stop the MPA, he hurled life threats at them.
The FIR was registered under sections including creating an obstruction in the performance of official duties, hurling life threats and other sections.
According to the First Investigation Report, MPA Chohan along with his coordinator and 50 other companions stormed into a polling station. He misbehaved with SHO Saghir Ahmad and tried to enter the premises of polling station forcefully. When the police stopped him, he issued life threats to the police officials.
