Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry has termed the news about former special assistant to the prime minister on overseas Pakistanis Zulfi Bukhari’s visit to Israel as ironic, reported 24News HD TV channel on Monday.
The information minister tweeted, “Foreign networks spread the rumors and then everyone on social gives analysis on it. And, some leaders of PPP and PML-N talk about it religiously. This is how fake news has been mainstreamed.”

The minister said it was ironic Zulfi Bukhari visited Israel as a representative of the army.

Earlier, Zulfi Bukhari and the Foreign Office also denied reports that he had secretly visited Israel "to pass on a message of an important person."
Bukhari took to Twitter, clarifying, "[I] did not go to Israel. Funny bit is Pakistani paper says I went to Israel based on "Israeli news source" and the Israeli paper says I went to Israel based on a “Pakistani source” — wonder who this imaginative Pakistani source is."
DIDNOT go to Israel.

Funny bit is Pakistani paper says I went to Israel based on "Israeli news source" & Israeli paper says I went to Israel based on a “Pakistani source”-wonder who this imaginative Pakistani source is🤔
Apparently, I’m the only one who was kept out of the loop. https://t.co/bcRO3osWMk
