The Sindh government has held the Indus River System Authority (Irsa) responsible for water shortage in the province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
The provincial government has maintained that the Irsa was responsible for causing water in Chashma-Jhelum and Taunsa-Panjnad link canals to reach below dead level.
Adviser to Sindh Chief Minister on Agriculture Manzoor Wassan said that cotton and sugarcane crops were destroyed in the province.
“Irsa and Punjab want to turn Sindh into a desert by blocking the water of its share,” he blamed.
He urged the prime minister to take notice of the theft of Sindh’s water.
