The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) in Faisalabad has initiated a novel approach to composting by utilizing earthworms, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Wednesday.

According to Director Public Relations Officer Waseem Abbas, this composting method has been launched in four major parks: Bagh-e-Jinnah, Kaleem Shaheed Park, Canal Park, and D Ground.

In the first phase of the project, compost pits have been prepared in these parks. Dung and green waste will be placed in the pits, where 2 to 5 kg of earthworms will be introduced to aid in the composting process.

This initiative aims to enhance waste management and produce high-quality compost for park maintenance.
