PPP chairman Bilawal predicts people's rule after next general elections

Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Tuesday said that there will be the supremacy of the constitution and democracy will be strengthened and after the upcoming general elections, there will be people’s rule in all the federating units and the federal capital.
Foreign Minister in his message on the eve of the party’s 55th foundation day said that PPP is the only political party in the country which has its roots in and from the public. He said that the party faced the most difficult situations with courage providing the country and the nation with leadership during the difficult trying situations with bravery. He highlighted the party’s aim saying: “Along with making the supremacy of the constitution and parliament inviolable, the establishment of a society based on equality and the prosperity of the people is our mission.”
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that: “We also have to learn from our mistakes as a party, state and nation at our own individual level, and we have to read the writings on the wall that the country needs ‘real elected’ governments and not selected ones in the future.”
Foreign Minister demanded from his supporters that on this day, every worker must take a pledge that they would continue struggling for people’s sovereignty, women’s empowerment, inclusion of minorities in the national mainstream, strengthening of democratic institutions to help transform the country into a strong democratic and welfare state following the aim of Shaheed Zulfiqar Bhutto.
He further stated that his Party would continue to defend and stand in the way of every attack on the 1973 Constitution presented to nation as a gift by his grandfather Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, as this Constitution guarantees the civil rights and freedoms of 23 crore Pakistanis as well as it is the basis of national harmony and unity.
Chairman Bilawal Bhutto paid tribute to the leadership of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, Begum Nusrat Bhutto and his mother Shaheed Benazir Bhutto for their great struggles and sacrifices. He has also paid tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the Party’s 55-year struggle, and saluted the leaders and workers who endured the hardships of exile and imprisonment.
