Punjab govt weighs to outsource 150 basic health units

Punjab government has decided to outsource basic health units across the province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to sources initially Department of Primary and Secondary Health Care will outsources 150 BHUs and among these health units, around 100 health units remain open for routine hours while 50 BHUs work 24 hours daily.
8 basic health units of Lahore will also be given on contract in the first phase. The Punjab government will pay Rs 5 lakh annually for the maintenance of these health centers.
The Department of Primary Health has sought Rs1.50 billion from Provincial Finance Ministry for the start of first phase of the project.
