CII advises SC on use of Zakat funds for salaries

The Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) has submitted a Shariah opinion to the Supreme Court regarding the utilization of Zakat money for salary purposes, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
According to the CII opinion, a certain amount of salaries can be paid from the Zakat fund and the actual purpose of distribution of Zakat should not be overlooked by the payment of salaries.
Moreover inappropriate administrative expenses should not incur from the Zakat Fund. The opinion of the Council is based on a pre-existing recommendation.
The opinion has been submitted to the Supreme Court through the Attorney General, said the TV channel, quoting its sources.
