A lieutenant and another two soldiers embraced martyrdom in a terror attack in North Waziristan on Thursday.
An IED (improvised explosive device), planted by terrorists along a roadside in the Ghariom sector, exploded martyring Lt Nasir Hussain, Naik Muhammad Imran and Sepoy Usman Akhtar, ISPR said.
Four soldiers sustained injuries in the attack, the military media wing said. The security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation.
As soon as the media aired the attack, people from different walks of life started paying tribute to the heroes, especially Lt Nasir Hussain. The squad was on duty to guard workers when the blast took place.
Lt Nasir Hussain completed the 137th Long Course of Pakistan Military Academy (PMA). He was a brilliant cadet who was selected to undergo training at Royal Military College, Duntroon, Australia.
