Doctors at Karachi’s Jinnah Hospital on Monday wore black armbands and did not perform their duties at the operation theater and the OPD in protest against the alleged harassment of a lady doctor at the hands of Kidney Surgery Ward In-charge Dr. Shehzad, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
On the other hand, frustrated over a delay in the release of an inquiry report into the incident, Dr. Mehreen Urooj submitted an application to the hospital administration, seeking immediate release of the report.
In the application, the doctor said that she had been waiting for the report for the last two weeks.
Mehreen reiterated her demand for an action against Dr. Shehzad.
Dr. Ammar Danish said doctors would not allow injustice to be done to their female colleague.
He further said that the Young Doctors Association (YDA) stood by Dr. Mehreen.
