Hike in petroleum products prices proposed

An increase in the prices of petroleum products has been proposed following a change in the prices of crude oil in the international market, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
Sources told 24News TV channel that there was a proposal to increase the price of one liter of petrol by 11 paisa.
If approved, one liter of petrol, which hitherto cost Rs252.10, would now cost Rs252.21.
Similarly, they informed, a hike by Rs3.62 had been suggested in the price of high-speed diesel (HSD).
If approved, the price of one liter of HSD would go up from Rs255.38 to Rs259.
Likewise, sources disclosed, an increase by 5 paisa and Rs3.3 had been proposed in the prices of one liter of kerosene oil and one liter of light-speed diesel, respectively.
The new rates, which will take effect on December 31 at midnight, are for 15 days.
