Punjab dissolves nine boards of waste companies

The Punjab government Monday dissolved nine boards of waste management companies, the Punjab Cattle Management Company and the Shehr-e-Khamoshan Authority, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
As a result of the move, at least 72 boards of directors who were allegedly appointed on a political basis have been de-notified.
According to a notification issued by the Punjab Local Government Department, the boards of Lahore Waste Management Company, Rawalpindi Waste Management Company, Gujranwala Waste Management Company, Multan Waste Management Company, Sargodha Waste Management Company, Faisalabad Waste Management Company, Bahawalpur Waste Management Company, Sialkot Waste Management Company, and Dera Ghazi Khan Waste Management Company were dissolved.
Likewise, the boards of Punjab Cattle Management Company and the Shehr-e-Khamoshan Authority were made dysfunctional.
Lahore Waste Management Company board of directors’ chairman Atif Chaudhry, Punjab Cattle Management Company board of directors Chairman Abdul Razzaq and Shehr-e- Khamoshan Authority chairman Dr. Muhammad Atif ud Din, were removed from their posts.
