Lahore Airport’s main runway opens for flights after upgradation

The main runway of the Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport, which had been closed for flights’ operation two years back in August 2020 for its repair and upgradation, was finally opened on Saturday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

Quoting its sources, the channel reported that initially the project was expected to be completed in one and a half years. But due to some reasons, the runway’s upgradation could not be completed on time, they elaborated. 

The inaugural function was addressed by Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique while Member of the Punjab Assembly (MPA) Khawaja Salman Rafique, Secretary Aviation Shaukat Ali, Director General (DG) Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Khaqan Murtaza, Additional DG Jamal Arshad, and DG Airports Security Force (ASF) attended the event.
