Good news for southern Punjab: Additional chief secretary, AIG posted

The federal government on Tuesday notified transfers and postings. The Centre posted Zahid Akhtar Khan to southern Punjab as additional chief secretary and Inam Ghani as the additional inspector general of police.
Earlier this months, reports said that the Punjab government gave approval to create 385 posts, including additional chief secretary and additional inspector general of police as according to CM Usman Buzdar, the officials could dispense their duties from July 1.
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said last month that a sum of Rs3.5 billion was allocated for the purpose of a separate secretariat for the southern part of the province so that public problems could be fixed at the earliest.
The two leaders of ruling PTI are from the southern Punjab and pledged to have a separate secretariat in the South even before the party elected to power.
