Govt decides to divide Lahore on administrative basis: Buzdar

Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar Wednesday said that the government has decided in principle to divide Lahore on administrative basis, reported 24News HD TV channel.
Addressing the Punjab Assembly session, the Punjab CM said that Lahore’s population had increased many folds, adding that the government was paying special attention to solve the problems of the provincial capital.
He said the former government, in its third year's budget, had allocated Rs67 billion for developmental projects other than the Metro Train project, but his government had allocated Rs86 billion in the budget 2021-22 for the development of Lahore. He said the Ravi River Urban Development Project and Central Business District were the game changer schemes for Lahore. He said that the government was installing surface wastewater treatment plants in Lahore, adding that underground tanks to save rainwater were also being installed.
Usman Buzdar said that electric buses, a 1000-bed new general hospital, Mother and Child Block in Gangaram Hospital and Children University were some of the projects being carried out by the incumbent government.
The CM said that the 25,000 apartments in LDA City, Shahkam Chowk overhead bridge, Gulab Devi Hospital underpass and Sheranwala overhead bridge were also being constructed in Lahore. He said the government was also constructing a bus terminal for the lawyers at Thokar Niaz Beg. Food and Drug Laboratory, Local Government Academy were also being constructed in Lahore, he said.
