Pakistan imports best quality cattle breeds from Brazil

In order to fulfil rising demand of meat and milk in the country, the government has imported top quality cattle breeds from Brazil as the first shipment of nine superior genetic breed reached Sialkot, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
These imported cattle included local and Brazilian breeds. The local breeds of Pakistan included Lal Sindhi, Guzeera, Brahman and Gir which were acquired by Brazil from Pakistan in 1950s and protected and bred.
The cattle with superior genetic characteristics will be supplied to local farmers for meat and milk requirements.
From Sialkot these cattle were shifted to Okara where they will be kept in quarantine for two weeks.
American company’s cargo plane reached at Sialkot International Airport with 9044 cattles from Brazil.
The cargo flight landed at Sialkot Airport from Sao Paulo, Brazil via Oman. Mari Petroleum Company Limited, Fongrow Private Limited (Fongrow), Brazilian and Pakistani ambassadors played a key role in facilitating this export of animals.
Under the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), federal government launched the livestock initiative.
