A fire broke out on Margalla Hills Islamabad once again on Thursday whereas a blaze swept through Chakdara forests in Lower Dir destroying trees worth millions of rupees, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.


The fire broke out in Golra and Noorpur range in Margalla Hills on Thursday. However, Capital Development Authority (CDA) teams are busy extinguishing the fire.


In this regard, Prime Minister’s Coordinator on Climate Change Rumina Khurshid Alam said that we are investigating the frequent fires in Margalla Hills.


If there is any mafia involved, action will be taken, Prime Minister's Coordinator said.


Romina Khurshid further said that the causes of fires are not only due to heat wave or climate change.


All institutions have been called for the future action plan, Rumina Khursheed said.


Fire breaks out in Chakdara forests


Meanwhile, fire broke out in the forests of Chakdra Lower Dir due to unknown reasons due to which worth millions of rupees trees burnt to ashes.


However, rescue 1122 teams from Lower Dir and Malakand are continuously engaged in extinguishing the fire since last night.


In this regard, rescue officials said that the fire has spread over the mountain range.


Despite strong winds, raging flames and intense heat, Rescue 1122 personnel are busy extinguishing the fire.


After fire, the District Emergency Officer has canceled the leave of all rescue personnel.


Since the fire was out of control, the services of a helicopter had to be taken which are engaged in firefighting.


Under the direction of Director North Arshad Iqbal, more than 100 firefighters of rescue from Lower Dir, Malakand and Swat reached there.


Besides the rescue teams, officials of the forest department have also present there to douse the fire.
