FJMU Vice Chancellor calls on Punjab Governor

Vice Chancellor of Fatima Jinnah Medical University, Prof Dr Khalid Masood Gondal Wednesday called upon Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan.


Dr Gondal briefed Punjab on the improvement in the University's ranking, the assistance provided to flood-affected areas across the country, especially in South Punjab, and the enhancement of research and academic standards.


During the briefing, he also apprised about the performance of the University and the quality improvement of the graduates' training program. He mentioned that the research journal of Fatima Jinnah Medical University is recognized by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council, the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, and internationally too. He further shared that the University has made significant improvements in the Quality Enhancement Cell, Research, and Business Incubation Departments in recent months.


With the help of the Alumni of Fatima Jinnah Medical University, 300 houses, a school, a community centre, and a dispensary in Kashani Basti, District Rajanpur, have been constructed.


He also stated that the University will soon provide telemedicine services in District Rajanpur, where the doctors of Fatima Jinnah Medical University will play a significant role in serving the needy and ailing humanity.


In the briefing, the Vice Chancellor mentioned that the FJMU's affiliated hospitals, including Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Government Teaching Hospital Shahdara and Government Mozang Teaching Hospital, are striving to provide quality medical services to patients. He also presented the University's report to the Punjab Governor.


Punjab Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem expressed his satisfaction with the University's performance and directed further improvements in quality, standards, and patient care. He also emphasized enhancing patient care at district-level hospitals.


He mentioned that he would soon visit Fatima Jinnah Medical University and meet with the Dean's Committee of this premier medical institution.
