The price of LPG was massively reduced from Rs250 per kg to Rs180 amid emergence of fissures between local traders and importers, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

In this regard, Chairman LPG Distributors Association Irfan Khokhar said that due to the differences in the LPG mafia the price of LPG has gone down by Rs60 to Rs70 per kg.

He said that Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) reduced production cost as 3 ships of imported LPG arrived at Karachi Port.

Due to the fight against the LPG mafia, people started getting cheap LPG, said Irfan Khokhar.

Another ship of LPG will reach Pakistan in two or three days and as soon as the ship arrives, the price of LPG will further decrease in next week, Irfan Khokhar predicted.

He said OGRA had fixed the price of LPG at Rs238 but the mafia was selling it at Rs240 to Rs250 per kg.

OGRA and other government agencies also remained silent spectators to the blackmailing of the LPG mafia, he added.

Irfan Khokhar further said that OGDCL reduced price to reward only few people

He said that OGDCL has reduced the production cost of eligible PG up to 32 thousand metric tons.

The production price of LPG decreased from 162000 metric tons to 130000 metric tons.
