A son of Maulana Tariq Jameel, a well-known religious scholar was killed by a bullet in Mian Chanu on Sunday, reported 24NewsHD TV

DSP Mian Chanun Saleem Marth said that Maulana Asim Jameel received a shot in his chest and was rushed to Talamba Rural Health Center in critical condition where he succumbed to injuries.

However, police said an investigation is underway to find the cause of his death whether is a murder or suicide.

IG Punjab Usman Anwar took notice of the incident and sought a report from RPO Multan.

IG said that in the light of evidence and forensic reports, the causes of death should be determined.

Punjab police spokesperson said that DPO Khanewal and senior police officers were present at the spot, and evidence was collected.

On the other hand, Maulana Tariq Jameel declared his son's death an accident in his tweet on Sunday.

NA Speaker's condolence

National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf expressed his condolences on the death of the son of Maulana Tariq Jameel. He expressed heartfelt sorrow over the death and prayed that Allah Almighty grant Maulana Tariq Jameel and his family patience in this difficult time.

In a startling development in the investigation of Asim Jameel's tragic death, police have scrutinized CCTV footage from the crime scene, leading to a perplexing revelation.

According to RPO Multan,  Asim Jameel was captured on camera shooting himself. The footage indicates that the incident occurred while Asim Jameel was exercising in a gym at the time, he added.  

These findings have left investigators perplexed, as the circumstances surrounding the tragedy take on a new dimension.

The police are continuing to probe the matter to ascertain the motives and circumstances that led to this distressing incident.

Meanwhile, Istekham-e-Pakistan Party chairman Jahangir Tareen condoled and expressed his grief over the death of Maulana Tariq Jameel's son.

He said that May Allah grant the deceased a high place in heaven. 

Former prime minister Shehbaz Sharif also condoled the death of Tariq Jameel's son. “I offer my deepest condolences to Tariq’s family and friends, I want to express my deepest condolences on the sad demise of Asim Jameel.
