The Lahore traffic police have impounded a car with 50 e-challans for violating different traffic rules, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
According to traffic police, the vehicle which violated traffic rules 60 times was spotted and stopped. The car driver violated traffic signal 44 times and lane 16 times.
In this regard, City Traffic Officer (CTO) Amara Athar said that the traffic police also tightened the parameters against e-challan defaulters for violating traffic rules.
She said teams are present on all major roads of the city including Mall Road, Jail Road, Main Boulevard Gulbarg, Ferozepur Road and Wahdat Road.
E-challan defaulting vehicle owners cannot benefit from police services because Safe City and Police Service Centers and Driving License Easiness Management System were integrated, Amara Athar said.
The CTO said crackdown continued against those tampering with vehicle number plates to avoid e-challan.
Citizens have to respect the traffic rules for normalizing traffic, Amara Athar said.
