Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has said that Pakistan’s economy is recovering, hoping that it will be strengthened very soon, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The finance minister was addressing an inaugural ceremony of the Bank of China’s branch in Islamabad on Monday.
Exuberant Dar said that Pakistan has been put on the path of economic revival, adding that the country’s economic indicators are showing progress. He was optimistic that soon the economy would be bolstered.
He said that former prime minister and PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif had started the CPEC project with the Chinese leadership. He vowed that the cooperation between the Government of Pakistan and the Bank of China would continue.
During his speech in Senate yesterday, Dar said that some forces wanted to see Pakistan default, but China, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates helped Pakistan avert this situation.
“China rolled over our loans, when it realised that Pakistan had met all the technicalities in this regard,” Dar said. He urged all the political forces to join hands to agree on a Charter of Economy to steer Pakistan out of financial crises.
