Punjab proposes to give Rs1000 monthly cash to 1m middle class families

Punjab government has been considering a recommendation to give money to the people instead of subsidizing essential commodities, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to details, recommendations have been made to give Rs 500 to Rs 1,000 monthly cash to the middle class instead of subsidy. 

It is reported that a new storm of inflation will come with the approval of the federal government.

Punjab Chief Secretary Jawad Rafique Malik has made various recommendations to the government to control inflation, now it is also recommended to give cash to the middle class instead of subsidies.

According to official documents, giving Rs 500 to Rs 1,000 in cash will cost Rs 12 billion a month, while subsidies on flour and wheat will cost Rs 17.25 billion a month.

According to sources, it is recommended to provide cash to one million families across the province.

Sources said that these are just recommendations for which the federal government has been approached for approval.

As per details, the Punjab government will be able to save Rs 63 billion annually by approving this proposal.
