Pakistan Ulema Council Chairman Allama Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi has called upon the government to waive utility bills of mosques and madaris for four months.

In a video statement issued on Sunday, Allama Ashrafi lauded the government’s relief package announced to assist the deserving families in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

The religious scholar also drew government’s attention towards the plight of the mosques and seminaries after restrictions on people to attend prayers there. “The government should waive electricity, gas and water bills of all the mosques and madaris for four months,” he said in the statement.
