After being refused a non-objection certificate (NOC) by the administration to hold a rally on May 6 in Islamabad, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Friday approached the Islamabad High Court (IHC) to get permission for the rally, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The PTI in its petition demanded that the IHC order the deputy commissioner to issue the NOC allowing the party to hold the rally in Islamabad.
“In the light of the Supreme Court’s 2022 decision, the rally from Zero Point to F-9 Park should be allowed,” the party pleaded.
“Harassment of the peaceful workers of PTI should be stopped. The deputy commissioner be directed to order the Islamabad inspector general of police (IGP) to provide security to the rally,” it demanded.
“The deputy commissioner had been approached for the NOC, but he refused,” it stated.
It is to be noted here that the PTI has announced holding rallies across the country on Saturday to express solidarity with the judiciary.
