The LPG distributors have threatened the government with a shutter down strike for not reducing the LPG prices in a week.

According to 24News HD TV Channel, All Pakistan LPG Distributors Association (APLPGDA) vice-chairman Ali Haider held a press conference on Tuesday in Karachi Press Club against the new price of LPG.

Ali Haider said that from January to October, LPG had become 27 per cent more expensive, and reached now all-time high rates of Rs204 per kilogram.

The association leader said that the fresh rates of LPG announced by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on October 01 had blown the minds of the consumers.

He said in January, the rate of LPG was Rs148 per kg. He warned that they would go on strike if the price would not reduce in a week.

Ali Haider said that OGRA had set prices of LPG according to Saudi Arabia which was completely wrong. He claimed that the LPG was being imported at a cheap rate but selling at high prices.

He also demanded the government that it should hold investigations through the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
