Issuing notices to the additional chief secretary home, IGP Punjab and DG FIA, the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday sought a report from them on the cases registered against Bushra Bibi, ex-first lady of Pakistan and wife of PTI Chairman Imran Khan, as well as the inquiries underway against her, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Hearing a petition filed by Bushra, seeking protective bail as well as details of the cases as well as inquiries, Justice Aalia Neelum of the high court also sought replies from respondents in the case, including the federal government, on the next hearing.
The court also directed the law officers of the federal and the Punjab governments to submit a report on September 12.
Justice Neelum made it clear to these officers that in case any case was left out of the report, they would be responsible for that.
Bushra had filed a petition in the LHC yesterday, seeking record of the cases registered against her.
She had prayed to the LHC to bar the authorities from arresting her in any case until details of all the cases were provided to her.
On the other hand, hearing of Bushra and Imran’s nikah case in the court of a civil judge in Islamabad had to be adjourned until October 20 due to the absence of judge Qudrutullah.
Prosecutor Rizwan Abbasi and PTI chairman’s lawyers appeared in the court.
Imran’s lawyers had filed a petition in the court for the acquittal of their client in the case.
The court had directed parties to the case to give arguments in support and against Imran’s plea today.
